Bored and fancy a new challenge? How about taking the smallest and least practical vehicle available in an entire continent and throw it at some of the most ridiculous and least hospitable terrain on our good earth for 4,000kms from Cuzco in Peru to Asunción in Paraguay – Oh, I almost forgot you have to cross the Andes as well!

That’s what 65 teams did in October of last year all pledging to raise £1,000 for Operations Smile – raising a phenomenal amount for Operation Smile which will enable us to treat hundreds of children in the South American countries that this fantastic adventure takes place – Peru, Bolivia & Paraguay! Operation Smile is truly grateful to all those teams who took part and the organisers – the wonderful Adventurists!

So what’s the Mototaxi about?
The machine of choice is the humble Mototaxi. Invented in Peru and not really perfected anywhere. It’s basically a motorbike with a sofa on the back, some compare it to the rickshaw … designed for pootling around the back streets of cities. Which makes them perfect for dirt tracks, waist high mud, salt flats, the Andes and sand dunes…
There's no such thing as a route on the Junket. Just a place to start and a place to arrive covered in mud, oil and missing the odd body part. What happens in between, how you get covered in mud, where you loose the body part are
