 CORPORATE FUNDRAISING MANAGER (PERMANENT)

Summary of role
|
The Corporate Fundraising Manager is a key member of the senior team and will be
responsible for developing and nurturing lasting relationships with high profile companies.
You will have worked successfully with national or multi-national companies, being involved
with employee support, presentations, account management and commercial fundraising.
This challenge will be about building up your own fundraising stream and being strategically
involved within corporate development decisions.

Details of role
|
Account Management
- To handle all aspects of account management for corporates, including the planning and implementation of individual approaches
- Maximise fundraising and other benefits of relationships with existing corporate partners
- Act as the main point of contact with corporate partners, providing regular communication, supported by appropriate monitoring, evaluation and feedback to ensure our client meets expectations
New Business
- To keep abreast of the corporate fundraising market, identifying trends and competitor activity
- Work with the rest of the fundraisers to develop a portfolio of funding opportunities, the benefits they offer supporters and partnership guidelines
- Research and approach potential new corporate donors and partners and develop relationships to encourage long-term support
- Secure sponsors for events and other initiatives by identifying and approaching companies with attractive and tailored sponsorship proposals and liaise with the Events Team to ensure that sponsored events meet agreed obligations with corporate sponsors.
Management and cross organisation
- Implement the corporate strategy to attract corporate support for our client, at all levels
- To agree financial targets with the CEO and be responsible for holding financial reports, monitoring income, preparing forecasts and accounting for variations in income
- To liaise with colleagues across fundraising in order to reduce the likelihood of funding opportunities being missed and to ensure co-ordination of all fundraising activities to maximise income for the Charity
- Encourage companies to attend fundraising events and build other engagement opportunities across the fundraising team
- To act as a representative of the charity when required and to communicate the work of the charity in line with corporate guidelines
- To undertake all other reasonable activity requested by the CEO

Professional qualifications & experience
|
Essential
- At least three years proven experience within corporate fundraising
- Ability to demonstrate a proven track record in successful corporate fundraising (@£250k)
- Ability to produce clear, professional, written materials and develop successfulfundraising proposals
Desirable
- Knowledge of Raisers Edge fundraising database
- Educated to degree level

 EVENTS & FUNDRAISING INTERNSHIP

Summary of role
|
The Events & Fundraising Intern is responsible for supporting the Events Manager to deliver a variety of fundraising events in the Operation Smile calendar. There are two key focuses to this role over the summer of 2011:
- to assist in supporting our community fundraisers in reaching their fundraising targets for their individual events eg runs, swims, cycle rides and treks, and promoting participation in the 2012 Olympic Gold Challenge
- to support the Events Manager in the preparations for the 10th Anniversary Ball in November.
The candidate should be highly motivated and organised, with excellent customer service skills and an eye for detail.

Strategy
- Research suitable opportunities for individual fundraising events, in conjunction with the Events Manager.
- Promote the 2012 Olympic Gold Challenge to existing community fundraisers, in particular to people who have already undertaken sporting challenge events on our behalf
- Assist the Events Manager in the preparations for the 10th Anniversary Ball, sourcing prizes and collateral to be used at the event.
- Deal with enquiries and support any marketing activities around the 10th Anniversary Ball.
Team / client management
- To build good relationships with community fundraisers
- To ensure timely response to enquiries
- To support the events manager with communication to donors and suppliers e.g. via newsletters, emails
- To support the rest of the OSUK team in other suitable tasks when required

|
The Business Development Coordinators duties will involve working towards a target client list of Trusts & Foundations for the organisation. Using a variety of sources to develop leads, the BD Coordinator will also be responsible for prioritising applications.

- Ensure the website content and structure is suitable for the intended audiences and in line with Operation Smile strategic goals, vision and values.
- Develop plan for maintaining and increasing organisation’s Internet presence.
Website Update Management
- Work with the UK fundraising team (UK) and Online team (US) to finalise content and implement all changes and updates.
- Review and adapt page and link structures to deliver the content strategy.
- Check, review and proof copy to ensure it is on brand and on message.
- Research and source graphics, imagery and rich media to support key messages and campaigns.
- Publish content using a content management system
Social Media
- Manage and implement calendar of updates on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.
- Sourcing content for further updates, and transforming it into compelling copy that will help engage our donors
Other
- Support and contribute to overall fundraising strategy.
- To undertake whatever other suitable tasks may be required from time to time by the Chief Executive.
