Get Started: Teachers & Grown-Ups

Since 1982, Operation Smile has provided free facial reconstructive surgery to more than 130,000 children. It can take just a 45 minute operation, costing as little as £150 to give a child a new start at life.

Through the Send A Smile Blue Peter Appeal, children can:

• Support Andy, Helen and Joel
• Use their creative skills to help children in India and around the world
• Learn about Operation Smile’s amazing work
• Discover a new and exciting culture

We are asking children to turn unwanted t-shirts into hospital gowns. Every gown you send will save us approximately £3 in costs. Operation Smile will use the gowns during future medical projects.

Our goal is to make 20,000 gowns which will save a staggering £60,000! That’s enough money to help pay for 300 surgeries in Guwahati, India.
