The current Board of Trustees maintains responsibility for governance and administrative issues, as well as providing leadership and opening doors for new fund-raising opportunities to accelerate the growth of Operation Smile U.K.
- Manoj Badale
Chairman
Manoj Badale is co-founder and Chairman of the Netdecisions Group, which was founded in 1998 and that now employs over 1000 people across its group businesses. Mr Badale is also chairman of TDX Group, and Investors in Cricket. He has an MSc in Economics from Cambridge University.
- Phil McDonald
Medical Director
Consultant Anaesthetist at St. Richard's Hospital, Chichester. Has volunteered with Operation Smile since 1995 on medical projects to Philippines, India, Colombia, Middle East (West Bank), and Romania. He was featured in the BBC1 documentary about Operation Smile, 'The Facemakers', in June 2000.
- Andrew McCullagh
Graduated from Oxford University with an MA in PPE and has had a career in banking. Began as a graduate trainee at Morgan Grenfell, where he joined the newly established Leveraged Finance Team, and has since worked at Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust and Merrill Lynch where he has been since 1999. Currently he is head of European Leveraged Finance for Merrill Lynch and has been responsible for several of the largest LBO financings executed over the last few years, including those for Debenhams, Gala, Saga and the Ineos Group.
- David Forbes-Nixon
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Alcentra Group, an asset management and investment group focused on sub-investment grade, debt capital markets in Europe and the United States with offices in London, Los Angeles and New York. The group has an investment track record that dates back to 1998 with $18 billion under management. Prior to joining Alcentra, David was the Global Head of Barclays Capital Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Barclays Group plc. David graduated from Birmingham University with a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering.
- Lara Legassick
Lara has a background in Corporate Strategy, in Marketing and in new ventures. She was a strategy consultant at Monitor Company, she worked in the European Corporate Strategy group at PepsiCo, and was Vice President Consumer Marketing at EMI Music. She has also worked in new venture creation for Blenheim Chalcot. Lara has an MSc from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.
- Terri Duhon
Graduated from MIT in Maths in 1994 and immediately joined JPMorgan trading derivatives in NY and London where she stayed for 8 years. In 2002, she joined ABN AMRO and built their global structured credit business. In 2004, she founded and now runs B&B Structured Finance Ltd, a derivatives training and consultancy business which has offices in NY and London. Terri is also on the Steering Committee for the Women’s Leadership Group within the Prince’s Trust.
